Loving DH's Locs...

So I did DH's hair on Sunday and I was extremely pleased with myself... He had an interview to go on and I was trying to make sure he was pristine and sparkling.  He went to get a shapeup and I retwisted his hair. I started and have been maintaining his locs for a little over 5 months now and I am more pleased with these results more than ever. These are the first dreads I have EVER done (I started them with comb coils) so there was alot of experimenting. I got it down pat now! Beeswax is the I learned that the ALMOST hard way. I had to clarify multiple times to get the buildup out! It was lint city for a second. But we got through it. After much trial and error, I found what I will be using for his hair to loc. I was recommended ORS Lock and Twist gel, and I used it to twist the time before this, and I didnt like the hold too much. I didnt want to throw it away or give it up because I enjoyed the moisture and yes NO FLAKES. But anywho, this time around I washed his hair with Jamaican and Lime clarifying Shampoo (smells soooo good), conditioned with a dominican avocado conditioner (the brand has a pearl on it). His hair felt great, but, next time I will dilute the conditioner with water to avoid buildup.  Anywho, I used to ORS Lock and Twist gel at the roots and a little bit of the gel plus a TINY bit of honey on each loc. YES HONEY! It made his dreads look soooo good and neat and a little goes a LOOOONG way. After I finished I sat him underneath the dryer, and when he was done, I was extremely pleased. I then flat twisted each dread and VOILA! The results are below. I am a member/lurker at Nappturality.com and I thank the ladies over there I did aloooot of research before and after doing his locs. They are coming along beautifully. I couldn't stop starting at the man and he absolutely loved them.

My son wanted a piece of this blog action and after a long debate.... I let him.
